CPSE Program Summary

Our CPSE program is funded by the New York State Department of Education and the New York State Department of Health and the Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities, the Committee on Pre-School Special Education (CPSE). Psychological and Special Education evaluation are conducted on the child. The psychologist will determine what other evaluations have to be conducted such as speech, occupational or physical therapy. Once evaluations are completed a packet is completed and reports are submitted to the child’s district. The district will then give an IEP meeting date and in the meeting they will determine whether a child aged 3 to 5 is eligible for the services recommended. This program prepares children so they are ready for kindergarten.

The evaluations and services are free of charge to all children and families approved based on eligibility.

· If your child received Early Intervention they may be eligible for additional service through CPSE. Your Service Coordinator will let you know.

· Other than that you may call us to make a referral or call your school district.

If you wish to continue with CPSE evaluations please reach out to our Evaluation Coordinator

Early Intervention Program (EI)

Our Early Intervention program is funded by the New York State Department of Health and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The Early Intervention Program is a public program for children under the age of 3 who are either suspected of having or at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. A series of evaluations are conducted on the child and thus will determine what services he/she will be eligible for.

If you wish to continue with the early intervention program please reach out to our EI Supervisor
